Nalco in Latin America
Nalco has had a presence in Latin America since 1958, when it started operations in eastern Venezuela. At that time Venezuela was already a country with vast oil production and refineries. The following year Nalco moved into Mexico. Within the next few years, the company expanded into Colombia, Brazil, Chile and Argentina, continuing to this day with plants and offices in those countries, but serving customers across the whole region of Latin America.
There are over 1,600 employees in the region, a large portion being made up of field sales representatives and the service force. There are six manufacturing plants in the region, with the largest manufacturing operations site based out of the Suzano, Brazil plant, which was originally conceived in 1975. The plant is in close proximity to São Paulo, where our main regional offices reside. From our Latin American offices, we are able to offer our customers the same services, solutions and technologies Nalco offers anywhere else in the world.
