Nalco Company Earns a Spot on 2011 InformationWeek 500 List of Top Technology Innovators

Nalco announced that it had finished 158th in this year’s InformationWeek 500, an annual listing of the nation’s most innovative users of business technology. The 2011 list was revealed at the InformationWeek 500 Conference at the St. Regis Monarch Beach Resort, Dana Point, CA. The InformationWeek 500 rankings are unique among corporate rankings as it spotlights the power of innovation in information technology, rather than simply identifying the biggest IT spenders.

“We are pleased to be included in the InformationWeek 500,” said Stewart McCutcheon, Nalco Chief Information and Productivity Officer. “We put a lot of effort into strengthening relationships between IT and our business peers within Nalco and the results are showing. We are are demonstrating value by bringing new solutions that help provide a competitive advantage in the marketplace. The solution developed to support our Commercial Excellence program was a great example of this strengthened partnership.”

Capabilities such as email in the cloud, access to the customer relationship management (CRM) system on smartphones and internal websites for customer documentation provided knowledge management and collaboration solutions that focused Nalco sales engineers on the highest potential business opportunities. In addition to providing real-time information, it also gave global key account teams an easy way to aggregate information and better demonstrate the value delivered to those global customers.

“For 23 years, the InformationWeek 500 has chronicled and honored the most innovative users of business technology,” said InformationWeek Editor In Chief Rob Preston. “In this day and age, however, being innovative isn’t enough. Companies and their IT organizations need to innovate faster than ever before to stay a step or two ahead of their customers, partners, and competitors. This year’s ranking placed special emphasis on those high-octane business technology innovators.”

InformationWeek identifies and honors the nation's most innovative users of information technology with its annual 500 listing and also tracks the technology, strategies, investments and administrative practices of America’s best-known companies. Top winners have included: The Vanguard Group, CME Group, Conway, National Semiconductor, Kimberly-Clark, Hilton Hotels and Unum.
